என நெருக்கமான அஞ்சலிக்குறிப்புகள் ஓர் எழுத்தாளருக்கு எழுதப்படுகிறது என்றால் அவர் எந்தளவுக்கு வாசகர்களோடு உறவாடி இருக்க வேண்டும்..?

கி. ராஜநாராயணன் அவர்களுக்கு முன்பான எழுத்துநடைக்கும் அவருடைய எழுத்து நடைக்கும் தான் எத்தனை வித்தியாசம்… திண்ணையில் உட்கார்ந்து நம்மோடு பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் நம் சொந்த பாட்டனைப் போலவே தான் அவருடைய அத்தனை புத்தகங்களும் நம்முடன் உரையாடின.

‘பிஞ்சுகள்’ என்ற சிறார் நாவலை எழுதிய கி.ரா தான் ‘வயதுவந்தோர்களுக்கான கதை’களையும் வழங்கினார், ‘வட்டார வழக்கு சொல்லகராதி’யையும் உருவாக்கினார், ‘கோமதி’, ‘கதவு’, ‘மாயமான்’, ‘கிடை’ போன்ற காத்திரமான கதைகளையும் எழுதினார், நாட்டுப்புற கதைக்களஞ்சியத்தையும் அவர்தான் உருவாக்கினார். அத்தனைக்கும் மேல் கடிதங்களாக எழுதிக்குவித்தார், கி.ரா உரையாடிக்கொண்டே இருந்தார். அவர் இறப்புக்கு சில மாதங்கள் முன்பு கூட இதுவரை அவர் சொல்லாமல் விட்ட கதைகளை ‘மிச்சக் கதை’களாக எழுதினார்.

அது சிறுகதையோ, குறு நாவலோ, நாவலோ எதுவாக இருந்தாலும் அந்தக் கதையின் முழு நிலப்பரப்பில் சிறகசைத்து பறந்து திரியும் ஒரு சின்னஞ்சிறு சிட்டுக்குருவியின் சிறு இறகசைப்பையும் அவர் வடித்திருப்பார். ‘பிஞ்சுகள்’ நாவலில் அந்நிலத்தின் அத்தனை பறவைகளையும் பதிவு செய்திருப்பார், அவற்றின் ஒவ்வொரு அசைவும் அவருக்கு அத்துப்படி. வலசை போய் ஊர்திரும்பிய பறவைகளைப் போலவோ, வலசை வந்த பறவைகளைப் போலவே அவர் கதைகளில் ஒரு மாமாவோ ஒரு சித்தப்பாவோ அடிக்கடி ஊருக்கு வந்து சிறகசைத்துவிட்டுப் போவார், இல்லை காணாமல் போயிருப்பார். அந்தப் பறவையின் சீழ்க்கை ஒலியைப் போலவே அந்த மாமாவும் ஒரு விசித்திர குணத்தோடு இருப்பார்.

பறவைகளின் சின்னஞ்சிறு அசைவுகள் மட்டுமல்ல, மனிதர்களின் அசைவுகளும் உடல்மொழியும் கூட அவருக்கு அத்துப்படி… கோபல்ல கிராமத்தின் முக்கிய கதைமாந்தர்களின் உடல்மொழியையும் அவர்களின் அசைவையும் பதிவு செய்திருப்பார். வசவுகளும் நையாண்டிகளும் பகடியுமாக அவர் நமக்குக் காட்டிய அந்த உலகத்தில்தானே நாமும் வாழ்கிறோம், இந்த விவரங்களை எப்படி நாம் கவனிக்கத் தவறினோம்…

நாட்டுப்புற கதைகளைத் தொகுத்ததும், கரிசல் வட்டார வழக்கு அகராதியை தொகுத்ததும் என அவருடைய பங்களிப்புகள் இலக்கியத்தையும் தாண்டி மொழியை வளப்படுத்தியது. கி.ராவைப் போலவே பட்டப்படிப்புகள் படித்திராத சாமுவேல் ஜான்சன் ஆங்கில மொழி அகராதியைத் தொகுத்தபோது அவருக்கு ஆக்ஸ்போர்டு பல்கலைக்கழகம் டாக்டர் பட்டம் வழங்கி சிறப்பித்ததாம். “மழைக்கு மட்டுமே பள்ளிக்கூடம் பக்கம் ஒதுங்கியவன் மழையை மட்டுமே பார்த்துக்கொண்டு இருந்துவிட்டேன்…” என பகடியடித்த, பள்ளிப்படிப்பைக்கூட முடிக்காத கி.ரா-வுக்கு புதுச்சேரி பல்கலைக்கழகம் பேராசிரியர் பதவியை அளித்தது.

இடதுசாரி இயக்கங்களின் பின்னணியுடன் எழுத வந்தவர், கோபல்ல கிராமத்தின் ஒட்டுமொத்த கதையின் கட்டமைப்பிலும் மார்க்சிய வரலாற்றுப் பார்வையே இழையோடும். அதுமட்டுமல்ல அவருடைய பல கதைகளிலும் மார்க்சியக் குரல் நம் வட்டார வழக்கிலேயே ஒலித்தது. அவருடன் உரையாடியவர்கள் சொல்வது, அவருடைய அத்தனைப் பேச்சுகளிலும் பாரதமும் ராமாயணமும் வந்து வந்துபோகும். அவருடைய முதல் கதையான மாயமான் கதையிலேயே மார்க்சியமும் ராமாயணமும் ஊடாடித்திரியும்.
