சிங்கப்பூரை உலுக்கிய சிறுவன் கொலை… என்ன நடந்தது?

உலகிலேயே மிகவும் குறைவான குற்றங்கள் நடைபெறும் நாடுகளில் சிங்கப்பூரும் ஒன்று. இந்த நிலையில், சிங்கப்பூரில் பள்ளி ஒன்றில் நடைபெற்றுள்ள கொலை சம்பவம் சிங்கப்பூர் மட்டுமல்லாது உலக அளவில் அதிர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது. சிங்கப்பூரில் உள்ள மிகவும் பிரபலமான பள்ளியான ரிவர் வேலி என்ற பள்ளியில்தான் இந்த சம்பவம் நடைபெற்றுள்ளது. கடந்த 19-ம் தேதி பள்ளியில் இருந்து காவல்துறைக்கு அழைப்பு ஒன்று விடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து காவல்துறை அதிகாரிகள் பள்ளிக்குச் சென்றுள்ளனர். அப்போது பள்ளியில் இருந்த கழிவறையில் 13 வயதான மாணவர் ஒருவரின் சடலம் கிடந்துள்ளது.

ரிவர் வேலி பள்ளியில் நடந்த இந்தக் கொலை சம்பவத்தால் பள்ளியானது சிலமணி நேரங்கள் மூடப்பட்டது. பள்ளியில் இருந்த மாணவர்கள் ஒரு நபர் கோடாரியுடன் சென்றதை பார்த்ததாகவும் அதிகாரிகளுக்குத் தகவல் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர். சம்பவம் நடந்த இடத்தில் இருந்து கோடாரி ஒன்றையும் அதிகாரிகள் கைப்பற்றியுள்ளனர். இந்த சம்பவம் தொடர்பாக 16 வயது சிறுவன் ஒருவனையும் அதிகாரிகள் கைது செய்துள்ளனர். இவர்தான் அந்த சிறுவனைக் கொலை செய்துள்ளார் என்று கூறப்படுகிறது. இதுதொடர்பான விசாரணை தொடர்ந்து நடைபெற்று வருகின்றன. கொலை செய்யப்பட்ட சிறுவனுக்கும் கொலை செய்த சிறுவனுக்கும் இதற்கு முன்னதாக எந்தவித தொடர்பும் இல்லை என்றும் தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன.

சிங்கப்பூரில் கொலை குற்றச்சாட்டுகளுக்கு அதிகபட்ச தண்டனையாக மரண தண்டனை விதிக்கப்படும். குற்றம் சாட்டப்பட்டவர் சிறுவனாக இருப்பதால் அவர் மீது குற்றம் நிரூபிக்கப்பட்டால் ஆயுள் தண்டனை வழங்கப்படும் என கூறப்படுகிறது. அதுமட்டுமில்லாமல் சிறுவனை மனநல பரிசோதனைக்கு உட்படுத்த வேண்டும் என்றும் நீதிபதிகளிடம் கேட்டுக்கொண்டனர். ஏனெனில், கொலை செய்த சிறுவன் கடந்த 2019-ம் ஆண்டு தற்கொலைக்கு முயன்றதாகவும் அதனைத் தொடர்ந்து மனநல மருத்துவமனை ஒன்றில் சிகிச்சைப் பெற்று வந்ததாகவும் கூறப்படுகிறது. கொலை செய்ய பயன்படுத்திய கோடாரியை அந்தச் சிறுவன் ஆன்லைனில் இருந்து வாங்கியுள்ளார்.

சம்பவம் தொடர்பாக சிங்கப்பூரின் சட்டம் மற்றும் உள்துறை அமைச்சர் கே.சண்முகம், “கொலை செய்யப்பட்ட சிறுவனின் பெற்றோருடன் சேர்ந்து துக்கத்தை அனுசரிக்கிறோம். அவர்களின் வருத்தத்தின் அளவை விவரிப்பது மிகவும் கடுமையான விஷயம்” என்று தெரிவித்துள்ளார். கல்வித்துறை அமைச்சரான சான் சுன் சிங், தனது அமைச்சகம் காவல்துறையுடன் இணைந்து இந்த சம்பவம் தொடர்பாக பணியாற்றுவதாக தெரிவித்துள்ளது. இந்த சம்பவத்தைத் தொடர்ந்து மாணவர்களிடம் அவர் பேசும்போது, “நீங்கள் ஒருபோதும் தனியாக இல்லை. நாங்கள் உங்களுக்கு உதவ எப்போதும் தயாராக இருக்கிறோம்” என்று தெரிவித்துள்ளார். சிங்கப்பூர் பிரதமர் லீ சியென் லூங்கும் இந்த சம்பவம் மிகுந்த அதிர்ச்சியை அளிப்பதாக தெரிவித்துள்ளார். உயிரிழந்த மாணவரின் குடும்பத்துக்கு அரசு துணை நிற்கும் என்றும் சிங்கப்பூர் பிரதமர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
