அந்தப் படத்தின் பிரம்மாண்ட வெற்றியைத் தொடர்ந்து அந்த ரூட்டிலேயே பயணிக்க ஆரம்பித்தார் ரஜினி. தன்னுடன் இணக்கமாக பயணிக்கக்கூடிய குறிப்பிட்ட சில இயக்குநர்களுடனே மாறி மாறி அவர்களைக் கொண்டே தான் விருப்பப்படுவதுபோல கேரக்டர்களையும் களத்தையும்கொண்ட கதைகளை உருவாக்கி நடிக்க ஆரம்பித்தார் ரஜினி. இப்படித்தான் ‘பாட்ஷா’, ‘முத்து’ ‘அருணாச்சலம்’, ‘படையப்பா’ என பல வெற்றிப்படங்களை கொடுக்க ஆரம்பித்தார் ரஜினி. எந்த அளவுக்கு இதில் ரஜினி ஆர்வமாகிப்போனார் என்றால் அவர் வழக்கமாக நடித்து பார்க்கும் ஆளுயர கண்ணாடியை ‘படையப்பா’ டிஸ்கஷன் நடக்கும் ஹோட்டலுக்கே கொண்டுச் சென்று அங்கேயே `படையப்பா’ கெட்டப்களில் கண்ணாடி முன் நடித்து பார்த்து, அந்த கெட்டப்புக்கேற்ற காட்சிகளை சுடசுட திரைக்கதையில் வரும்படி பார்த்துக்கொண்டாராம் ரஜினி.
ஆனால் எதற்கும் ஒரு எல்லை உண்டு அல்லவா, ரஜினியின் இந்த உத்தி, ‘பாபா’ படத்தில் ஓவர் டோஸ் ஆகிப்போனது. விளைவு ‘பாபா’ பெரும் தோல்வியை சந்தித்தது. அதிலிருந்து ரஜினி, அடுத்து நடித்த ‘சந்திரமுகி’ படத்திலிருந்து ‘லிங்கா’வரை டிஸ்கஷன்களில் கலந்துகொண்டாலும் பெரிய அளவில் தலையிடமல் தன்னுடைய இமேஜிலிருந்து திரைக்கதை ரொம்ப விலகிபோனால் மட்டுமே கருத்து சொல்லியிருக்கிறார். ‘லிங்கா’ படத் தோல்விக்குப் பிறகு ரஜினி அதிலும் பங்கேற்காமல் இயக்குநர்கள் சொன்ன கதை பிடித்திருக்கிறதா இல்லையா, பிடித்துப்போய் ஓகே சொல்லிவிட்டால் மறுப்பேச்சே இல்லாமல் நடித்துக்கொடுத்துவிடுவது என்பதுதான் தற்போது அவர் கடைபிடித்து வரும் நடைமுறை.
